The hose has come away from its end
You pull the hose and the end fitting stays in your hand. Or the end is still attached but wobbles and whistles. Or everything is intact, and yet the hose no longer stays locked onto the machine.
The first thing to know, because it is what saves you most: you do not need to buy a whole hose. The Sirena hose is a coil with an end fitting glued on at each side. What gives way, almost always, is the end fitting and not the coil — and the end fitting costs 16 € or 21 € depending on the hose, against 62 € for a complete one.
First: which of the two hoses do you have
The parts are different and are not interchangeable.
- Standard hose — smooth, no electrical contacts at the connection - Electrified hose — the one that carries current to the power nozzle, with metal contacts visible on the connection
What exactly has broken
The insert has pulled out. The end fitting is intact but has come out of the coil: the factory glue has let go. That is the lucky case, it gets glued back.

The casing has split. The outer plastic of the end fitting is cracked or missing, often after a hard yank or a knock. The part has to be replaced.
The catches have snapped. The hose will not stay locked onto the machine even though the end fitting looks intact: what has given way are the two sprung catches that hold it. It happens in two ways, and neither is a fault in the part. The first is the drop: the hose slips out of your hands and hits the floor right on the catches, which are the most exposed and the thinnest part of the whole fitting. The second is the sideways yank — the machine gets pulled by the hose with a sideways movement, and instead of spreading across both catches the load goes entirely onto one of them, and that one snaps.
With only one catch left the hose will hold for a while, but it is a matter of weeks: the other one is already working for two.
It applies to both hoses, and the part is the same: the insert is identical on the standard and on the electrified hose.

The coil is split. If the tear is in the hose itself, and not in the end fitting, no repair will hold: the hose gets replaced.
The glue is that glue, not another one
This is where nearly everybody goes wrong. General-purpose glues do not bond to this plastic: the joint seems to hold, then after a week of suction it comes apart again, and in the meantime you have fouled the seat.
Clean and dry both surfaces, glue, push it fully home and do not use the machine until the glue has set — the suction pulls in exactly the direction that opens the joint.
On the electrified hose, a word of warning
On the electrified version the two wires have to go back on the correct contacts. If you are not sure, do not improvise: send us a photo of the connection opened up and we will tell you how it goes, or send it in and we will do it.
Why it comes off
Almost always because the machine gets dragged by the hose instead of by the handle. If that is happening because the dolly no longer rolls, fix that first: the wheels cost 6,90 € each.
